Most employers that have unions either have a political (industry) history of unionization or the employer has demonstrated some past action whereby employees felt having a union (rightly or wrongly) afforded them some measure of protection from capricious decision-making.
Our take on this is very simple, employees don’t vote unions in - they vote management out. Most union-free employers have worked, in good times and bad, to earn employee trust and confidence such that employees deem unions unnecessary. Employers with unions have breached employee trust at some point and, regardless of subsequent efforts, were not able regain employee confidence.
We are not anti-regulation. Often companies cited for rule violations by government agencies have made mistakes and should correct them.
